We did zoning in this morning. We each got dictionairies and we got to decorate them. We will use them for spelling words when we are writing. We learned about organizing our ideas in writing. Mrs. Clayton drew a picture of a dresser. Then we were organizing the ideas into the drawers. Ideas should stay in their own drawers or readers get confused. Just like how we don't put our underwear and pants in the same drawer. Imagine you had no drawers and you had to use boxes. Our clothes would not be organized. We need drawers to organize our clothes. We organize our ideas by putting them in drawers. We should not mix up our ideas and put them in different drawers. Then we talked about Hey, Little Ant and we had a debate. Only three people thought that the boy should step on the ant. They thought about their own opinion and didn't go with their friends. I was about to go but I was too late.
In math we are learning about place value. In guided reading we read The Garden. Mrs. Clayton printed out paper for us about the garden. We had to underline the questions we made. After that we went to gym. After gym we had lunch. Then we did science. We are learning about food webs. A food web is when food chains connect. Imagine there is a fox then a rabbit which eats a plant. The arrows show which direction the energy goes. We are going to talk about empathy in health and career. I love grade three! We are learning a lot this year from Mrs. Clayton and Mrs. Finley. Mr. Mac teaches us math.
